Tarfelt - BH or Tarfelt - DPC are recommended for roof and basement waterproofing as per IS code of practice IS: 1346/76 and IS: 1609/76 respectively. They are suited for various types of surface such as concrete, corrugated asbestos or GI sheet, timber, shell/folded plate, etc. They are ideal for waterproofing of soils, grain godown and warehouses, wagons, trams, buses etc.
Selection of Specification
Specification regarding the nature of treatment should be decided depending on the type of structure and climate conditions. For example in severe climatic conditions a heavy/extra heavy treatment should be adapted.
Application Methodology
Surface Preparation
Cement grading should be carried out so as to provide a slope of 1:80 or more.
The number of drainage outlets should be adequate and the size of the outlet should not be less than 100 mm.
The bitumen to be used as the bonding material should be heating to the correct working temperature and should be spread on the roof with a rubber squeegee or cloth brush (Kutchda).
In building floors: damp-proofing and waterproofing; acid-alkali resistant flooring; conductive flooring; sparkles flooring.
In building/roofing: manufacture of roofing felts, adhesives, primers, damp-proof coatings compositions, liquid roof coating, plastic cement and hot carriage roofing compounds.
IN hydraulic: canal lining, embankment, hydraulic structure, dam lining, protection and sand stabilization.
Roads: roads construction and maintenance.
Industrial use: lamination, manufacture of caulking compounds, joint fillers, rubber extenders, battery sealing compounds, cable filling compounds etc.
Bitumen sources the best quality bitumen directly from leading refineries.
All grades of Bitumen are manufactured similar to grades specified in IS; 73- 1992 for paving bitumen like S35 (30/40) S65 (60/70) and fully blown or semiblown bitumen specified in IS: 702-1998 for 85/25, 85/40, 90/15, 115/15, 135/10, 155/6. Bitumen has formulated many special grades over and above the once specified in IS : 73-92 and IS: 702-92.
The prime features, viz. durability, ability to withstand the climatic conditions and other factors make our water proofing fabrics suitable for varying purposes in the construction and building sectors. Our water proofing membranes are especially developed for this purpose, are the most viable option for providing resistance from the climatic factors and other conditions. Moreover, the material from which these are developed, make them highly puncture resistant.
The highlighting characteristics of our non-woven fabrics that make them ideal for the aforementioned purposes are the material from which these fabrics are developed, and their ability to withstand the climatic conditions. These fabrics provide resistance to acid alkalis and microorganisms, UV rays, and their reasonable elasticity enables them to withstand contraction & expansion in extreme climate. Moreover, bitumen coating can also be done over them due to their low shrinkage properties at 180°C.
Different thicknesses and sizes in which our non-woven fabrics are developed, especially for the water proofing membranes, enhance their functionality and end-usage. The maximum available width of the non-woven fabrics, which is available with us, is 2200 mm. The main functional areas in which these fabrics can be used include drainage, filtration, reinforcement and others.
Applications of water proofing membranes are :
Landscaping
Strip drains
Parking lots
Terrace gardens
For providing green house effect
Botanical gardens
· Metal roofs

Area of Application
In application where heating of bitumen at site is not possible and where handicaps of wet surface have to be overcome waterproofing can be done by using shalikote T- 10
Shalikote T-10 is also recommended for use on leaky walls.
Advantages
Shalikote T- 10 gives a coating which when set is impermeable to water and remains unaffected by attacks of industrial fumes, safety atmosphere etc. It resists low temperature cracking and also does not crack under the influence of storng sunlight.
A bituminous adhesive in the form of an emulsion of brushable consistency. CPRX Compound is recommended for fixing of foamed polysterene, insulex soft boards and fiberglass insulation slabs to all types of structures where a bituminous adhesive is acceptable.
Hot application by flooding method
Applied to any thickness as required by the specifier or customer
Reinforced with fibreglass inner & outer wraps
Suitable for in-service temperature of up to 75ºC
Shade
The first coat is black. The second or middle coat is slightly red tinted.
Characteristics
The paint shall not impart any taste or odour to water, and it is nontoxic. It shall afford a highly durable protective airtight coating to prevent corrosion or rut on iron and steel surfaces against air, moisture, sea water. Pipekote has sufficient elasticity to prevent it from cracking, blistering or peeling. The product retain its consistency at the ordinary atmospheric temperature when packed is sealed containers. After drying the paint does not show any surface cracks due to weathering, expansion and contraction. Its resistance to water is excellent. Pipekote is resistance to weak acids and alkalis, nature salts and to dry heat upto 150 degree C. It can be applied uniformly by brush.
Shelf Life
The paint has a shelf life of more than six months . In order to ensure non-settlement of the heavies contents, the paint drums should be turned upside down approximately every fortnight.
Covering Capacity
5-6 Sq. M./liter per coat giving a film thickness c 3-4 mils.
A corrosion protection coating for all types of iron, steel masonry or concrete surfaces. Also used for coating of steel drums.
Suitable for coating the inside of both masonry and steel water tanks as it is non-toxic, odouries and tasteless. Tankmastic will have no harmful reaction with drinking water.
Advantages
It can be easily and quickly applied by brush or spray gun and dries rapidly leaving a black glossy finish.
The resultant film is tough and elastic and does not crack easily due to structural movements.
It is resistant to dilute acid and alkalis.
It is nontoxic and does not impart odour or taste to water on contact.
mainly uses the E-glass or C-glass fiber yarns, weaved by plain/Twill/Satin. For it's properties of good electrical insulation, fireproofing, waterproofing, high strength, etc, it widely used in epoxy copper plate and electric appliance insulation products, printed wiring board, fire protection insulation board, and aviation and so on.
Storage :
Good aggregative, low static and low fuzz
Good heat resistance, extremely low chromatic aberration
Good contact surface performance with resin
Good fluidity in resin
Good physical chemistry performance
Using silicone sizing material
Using special designed sizing, compatible well with basic resins
Fibre glass mesh :
is combined with specially designed mesh surface treatments can be used in a wide range of applications, but are mainly used in construction industry. Surface treatments based on styrene-butadiene ensure alkali resistance and increase the mechanical durability that is required by the construction industry. In addition, other surface treatments based on PVAC or styreneacrylate are used for different applications. It's widely used in exterior insulation finishing system (EIFS), roofing system, plaster board, marble and mosaic production etc.
